In 2012, I moved to Denver, CO to teach at an urban high school in its second year of a turnaround process. Needless to say, my 6 years of suburban teaching experience was not sufficient.
Fortunately, I had a teacher coach who offered real-time coaching to me, which I gladly accepted. With earbud in my ear, I went through the process of receiving real-time feedback during my instruction. The coach sat in the rear of the classroom providing me coaching.
Surprising to me, this was extremely effective and significantly improved my instruction!
