Since COVID, many schools have decided not to assign homework to their students. I think this is a mistake. When viewed as practice (and obviously not graded), homework can be a terrific resource for kids. My suggestion is to reimplement homework in our schools, framing it as an opportunity for additional practice.
Further, I'd recommend homework become differentiated and standards-based. Imagine if students were given homework problems based on the formative assessment data from class that day! That is my recommendation.
