Just like in the classroom when I'm always seeking ways to recognize and empower students to take the role of student leaders, I do the same when presenting PD.
This looks like, in advance of PD, surverying staff to find out who has experience with the topic to be presented. I then organize a meeting, still prior to the PD, to co-plan the PD. And then during the PD, I co-present with the staff.
My goal is always to get as many staff involved with leadership roles during PD, just like during a class lesson with kids. Then those same staff members become teacher leaders for the rest of the staff throughout the year!
