Makerspace is a Mindset. While it is certainly useful to create a dedicated school space for Emerging Tech-based resources, my suggestion is to also find ways to infuse the Makerspace Mindset into as many school spaces as possible. This gets into cross-curricular, project-based opportunities!
"... but we can't afford expensive new tech 😔 "
Most importantly, the Makerspace is a Mindset. It's ...
Problem-Solving
Creativity
Teamwork
Cross-Curricular
Real-World
Ingenuity
Experimenting
Risk-Taking
As you can see, this can be accomplished with no-tech, low-tech, etc.
Now, as far as generating funds for emerging tech, check out my Crowdfunding page. There are many, many funds being allocated towards innovative educators looking to provide "21st Century" opportunities for kids!
