Way back in 2009 I became active in The Math Forum at Drexel University. Two words revolutionized my approach to pedagogy:

Notice and Wonder

So simple, yet so powerful! Now the people over at The Math Forum had a whole system for implementing this strategy called Problems of the Week. The approach was to provide math students scenarios, NOT Questions. After seeing the scenario, students were asked to list what they noticed and what they wondered. They then created the questions themselves. How bout that!
