Student-Led, Portfolio-Based Conferences

Way back in 2008, I decided to implement portfolio-based, student-led parent conferences and I never looked back. You see, the parent-teacher conferences were so much more effective with the students leading the discussion based on selections from their work. Even the students consistently preferred this structure, since they were essentially "driving" the conference with their advocates!

I was the only teacher that year and at that school to implement this structure. Not sure why.
